Some say the universe delivers cats when the time is right — a stray cat brushing past your leg, a pair of glowing eyes from a skip, a meow in the night.
But why leave it to cosmic chance? ✨ 🔮
Adopt, foster, love cats with Glasgow Pet Collective.
Fostering FAQ
What is fostering? Taking a pet into your home whilst we look for a new forever home for them! You care for the kitty as you would your own pet, but your commitment to them is short term (typically 1 week to 2 months).
Where is the opportunity? Where ever you are! Assuming you’re in the Greater Glasgow area.
Does it cost money? NO! It’s 100% completely free. In fact, we pay for all the kitty’s supplies – litter, food, etc.
How long do I keep the cat? It’s up to you! Whilst it’s great if you can keep your wee one for the entire rehoming journey (1 week – 2 months is typical), we will work with you to create a schedule that works for you and the kitties.
Adopting FAQ
How much does it cost to adopt? We use a sliding scale based on postcode and financial circumstances — typically £75–£225. This helps cover vet care whilst making pet adoption accessible to more Glaswegians.
What kinds of cats are available? All kinds! From playful kittens to wise 15-year-olds, purebreds to loveable moggies — we’ve got them all. See who’s waiting for a home here: glasgowpetcollective.org/adoptable-pets 🐱 New cats often added weekly.
Do you rehome outside Greater Glasgow? Simple answer: yes. We do not have geographical restrictions for people who need to give up their pets nor people who want to adopt. But the vast majority of our pets and adopters come from the Greater Glasgow area.
Can I meet the cat before adopting? Generally speaking, you will not meet the pet in person before taking them in. HOWEVER, we do have a good wee chat all about the cats we have available for adoption to ensure the most likely match is found and then the adopter brings the pet into their home under a 2 week foster-to-adopt period. This gives the people and cat the time and assurance to make sure they’ve found a great match before making a longterm commitment!
What’s included in the adoption fee? Every adopted cat comes vet-checked, microchipped, vaccinated, de-wormed and neutered. Cats typically also come with many of their own supplies such as their litter box and bedding. This helps cats transition to their new home more easily and reduces waste.
